The Thumb River viewing area is a mere five minute boat ride from our facilities on Camp Island. There are two viewing areas which are just a short walk away at 200 yards to the first, and 300 yards to the second. The trail is an unimproved winding game trail that is uneven at times, but maintains a relatively constant level grade. The viewing areas at the Thumb River are among our favorites for bear viewing and are the easiest of our three locations to access.

Our two viewing locations are strategically placed on elevated bluffs overlooking the Thumb River that affords the best vantage point for bear viewers, while remaining at a respectful distance from the bears fishing below.
